Summary

Add a repository-local test-t3-app skill that gives coding agents a predictable way to launch and test T3 Code in an isolated environment. The workflow starts the dev server without auto-opening a browser, authenticates the controlled browser with the complete one-time pairing URL, documents pairing-token recovery, and supports disposable SQLite fixtures.

The base directory remains the container for all T3 Code data. Explicit --base-dir, --home-dir, and T3CODE_HOME values store runtime state under <baseDir>/userdata. Only a development launch using the implicit default home falls back to ~/.t3/dev, protecting normal development from the production ~/.t3/userdata state.

Why

The previous dev workflow could auto-open a browser and consume the bootstrap pairing token before the agent's controlled browser navigated to the app. That left the browser unauthenticated and made UI verification unreliable.

Development state also needs a predictable isolation rule without changing the meaning of the base directory. The dev/ directory is a fallback for an implicit dev launch; when an isolated base is explicitly selected, its normal userdata/ state should be used while preserving the base root for caches, worktrees, and other data.

Agents were additionally encouraged to run full workspace verification locally. With multiple agents, that creates redundant test, lint, typecheck, and dev-server processes. The updated repository guidance keeps local verification focused and leaves the full suite to CI.

Changes

Add the test-t3-app skill, pairing recovery instructions, and SQLite fixture reference.
Disable browser auto-open by default in the web dev runner while preserving an explicit opt-in.
Use <baseDir>/userdata for every explicit base and reserve <baseDir>/dev for the implicit development fallback.
Add an Effect/TypeScript SQLite helper backed by effect/unstable/sql, including guarded writes and private backups.
Update operational and script documentation for the path semantics.
Require one integrated browser verification pass by the primary agent for user-visible frontend work, while preventing redundant full-suite and dev-server work by subagents.

Validation

Focused vp test run across server config, SQLite helper, SSH, dev-runner, mobile showcase, and desktop behavior: 92 tests passed.
Targeted formatting and lint checks passed for all 14 touched TypeScript files.
Skill package validation passed.
CI remains responsible for the full workspace verification suite.

Introduces a test-t3-app agent skill with documentation for launching an isolated T3 dev environment, authenticating via pairing URLs, and inspecting/seeding SQLite.
Adds a new t3-sqlite-state CLI script (t3-sqlite-state.ts) to query or exec SQL against <baseDir>/userdata/state.sqlite, with timestamped backups (mode 0600) and a guard that prevents writes to the shared ~/.t3 home.
Changes state directory logic in DesktopEnvironment, deriveServerPaths, and resolveServerConfig: explicit --home-dir now stores runtime state under <baseDir>/userdata; implicit dev still uses ~/.t3/dev.
Replaces the --no-browser dev-runner flag with --browser (opt-in); browser auto-open is now disabled by default for web dev, and T3CODE_HOME is only passed to child processes when explicitly configured.
